Conserving Natural Resources in Northern Colorado

The Fort Collins Conservation District strives to restore forests to their historical state prior to human influence. Restoring our forests to a condition that is more representative of how they were structured over 100 years ago, our forested land will have a higher degree of resilience to wildfire, pests and diseases, and severe weather events. When creating a Forest Conservation Plan, we consider all of these ecosystem services to ensure we’re providing an all-inclusive and ecology-based conservation plan.

The Fort Collins Conservation District is also committed to bringing a deeper understanding of our natural resources by providing educational opportunities in our community. By connecting with industry experts from around the state and bringing them into our classrooms and our communities, we can gain a deeper understanding of how we can enhance, protect, restore and sustain our natural resources. From farming and ranching to forestry and wildlife, we are dedicated to teaching others how to become better stewards of our land.
